Hi, I’m Maryjo, marketing strategist for fitness and wellness coaches.
I combine real fitness industry experience with marketing strategy expertise to help you build a plan that attracts ideal clients and grows your business sustainably.
Why I focus on fitness and wellness coaches.
Most marketing strategists have never worked in the fitness industry. They don't understand the seasonal ebbs and flows of your business, the pressure to constantly show up on social media, or what it's like to compete in a saturated market where everyone seems to be offering the same thing.
I do.
I spent years in the fitness industry, managing operations at a fitness center and watching talented coaches struggle with the same marketing challenges over and over. They were working hard, showing up consistently, but their efforts weren't translating into steady client bookings or program sales.
The problem wasn't effort. It was strategy.
I built Simply Strategic because fitness and wellness coaches deserve marketing guidance from someone who actually understands their world. Someone who knows that January isn't the same as July, that your ideal client isn't looking for quick fixes, and that your marketing needs to position you as a professional coach with real expertise, not just another fitness account chasing viral moments.
My approach to marketing strategy
Marketing strategy isn't about doing more. It's about doing the right things, in the right order, for the right reasons.
I work with fitness and wellness coaches to build strategies rooted in clarity, alignment, structure, and execution.
We start by getting clear on your goals and ideal clients. Then we align your marketing efforts with your strengths and bandwidth. We create repeatable systems so marketing becomes manageable instead of overwhelming. And we execute with focus, tracking what works and adjusting as needed.
This isn't about handing you a generic template or managing your marketing for you. It's about creating a customized strategy you own—one that fits your coaching business, your life, and the way you actually operate.
Because your marketing should work for your business, not the other way around.
Who I work with (and who I don't)
You’re a great fit if:
→ You're an established fitness or wellness coach who's been in business for 1-3 years.
→ You're making money, working with clients, but your marketing feels like guesswork.
→ You're ready to stop piecing together random advice and build a real strategy.
→ You want clarity, focus, and a plan that fits your business.
You’re not a fit if:
→ You're brand new to coaching and still figuring out your offer.
→ You're looking for quick wins or viral growth hacks.
→ You want someone to manage your social media or create content for you.
→ You're not ready to invest in strategic guidance or do the work of building a customized plan.
I work with coaches who are ready to simplify their marketing, own their strategy, and grow their business sustainably.
A few things you should know…
→ Mama of twin boys (okay, technically they're men now, but they'll always be my boys)
→ Wannabe Wonder Woman (loved her since I was a kid—still do)
→ Pasta enthusiast (all things pasta, all the time)
→ Book lover (thrillers, suspense, fantasy, romantasy—I'm here for it)
→ Organization nerd (I'll 100% reorganize my ClickUp boards for fun on a Friday night)
I keep a Wonder Woman mug on my desk filled with mechanical pencils (bold lead only). I fuel my work with Citrus Salt LMNT water and cups of Irish Breakfast tea, usually with P!nk or Beyoncé playing in the background.
I believe in clean workspaces, clear plans, and marketing that doesn't consume your life.
If we work together, expect direct guidance, strategic thinking, and maybe a book recommendation or two.
Start with clarity
